ADOMA is a computer for the visually impaired that empowers them to access information using touch and sound. The goal of this project was to create a design language for the visually impaired, allowing them to become more independent.

We met with 18 visually impaired individuals and followed them throughout the day to study their daily routines and habits.

Current technologies have elevated our way of conveniently accessing information. Many graphical interfaces such as: desktops, tablets, mobile, and now virtual/augmented reality—heavily rely on sight. This is a stressful experience for the visually impaired. What if surfaces can change and adapt based on context?

We wanted to create a personal computing experience for the the visually impaired. We researched and thought about how we could benefit current visually impaired users, but also wanted to create a solution for the future of interaction for everyone.
